Technology is more obvious to me now

It's amazing how, when your eyes are open to the possibilities, you start to see new things -- you're more aware of them. For example, I was aware that there was this e-book reader called a Kindle that was available on But about a month ago I went to a SinC meeting, and the woman across the table from me had one and she showed me how it worked. She had the bigger Kindle II. It was really neat! I wish they weren't so expensive, because now I want one!
Imagine, you can actually take a whole library on vacation with you!

Then, the other day, about a week ago, I sat next to a woman at the Music Circus. She was by herself, and, to give herself something to do before the show, she was reading a book on another device -- not a Kindle. The screen was very small, and she kept paging and paging. I thought she was looking through the apps on her phone, but then I realized that she was reading. I was intrigued. A new place to bring such a thing. And it even fits in a small handbag. I go to a lot of plays alone, since my husband is in them. It's something I can do, rather than bringing a big clunky library book. Now I really want one!

This is one of those crazy things! I forgot how to get into my blog! And now I rediscovered it. Hallelujah!
I've been swamped doing the GREAT WEED, and it has taken most of my time, when I have not been on the Info Desk, and it has been quite the effort to get back to the 27 Things, which seems to have grown while I was gone!!! Now it's 29!

Flickr is confusing

I have now read all of the information I can find on Flickr and I know you can do neat things with images on it, but I do NOT understand it. The more I read the more confusedI get. Maybe it's because I don't download pictures, so I don't even get it at the basic level. I don't know. I guess I need a lot more time than I have here.

See My Other Blog

This blog is just for SPL2.0 posts. My other blog is more interesting: see it at It has reviews of mysteries I have read.

Well, here we go...

Here I am - blogging. So I can do the 23 -- oops -- 27 Things at SPL -- the Sacramento Public Library, where I work in one of the branches. This is actually my third blog. I did one for a class in the 23 Things, but it's lost in cyberspace. At least, I hope it is. It was pretty awful.

The other one, which is right out there at the tip of your fingers, is a collection of reviews called
"Make Mine a Mystery." I started it yesterday, so there is only one post to it, but it will grow, as this one probably will not -- much. It might even be worth reading every once in a while. Look for it at this URL:
